چکیده

In 2019, the Nosology Committee of International Skeletal Dysplasia Society provided an updated version and Classification Genetic Disorders. This is a reference list recognized diseases in humans their causal genes published to help clinician diagnosis scientific research advances. Complementary mammalian models, zebrafish has emerged as interesting species evaluate chemical treatments against these human skeletal disorders. Due its versatility low cost experiments, more than 80 models are currently available. this article, we review state-of-art “aquarium bedside” approach describing according by Committee. With this, intend stimulate appropriate direction efficiently meet actual needs clinicians under scope

Zebrafish models for human FKRP muscular dystrophies

Various muscular dystrophies are associated with the defective glycosylation of alpha-dystroglycan and are known to result from mutations in genes encoding glycosyltransferases. Fukutin-related protein (FKRP) was identified as a homolog of fukutin, the defective protein in Fukuyama-type congenital muscular dystrophy (FCMD), that is thought to function as a glycosyltransferase. Mutations in FKRP...

Zebrafish Models for Human Acute Organophosphorus Poisoning

Terrorist use of organophosphorus-based nerve agents and toxic industrial chemicals against civilian populations constitutes a real threat, as demonstrated by the terrorist attacks in Japan in the 1990 s or, even more recently, in the Syrian civil war. Thus, development of more effective countermeasures against acute organophosphorus poisoning is urgently needed. Here, we have generated and val...

Zebrafish mutants as models for congenital ocular disorders in humans.

InWestern societies, the vastmajority of people (>68%) will experience some form of vision loss due to cataracts, glaucoma, or retinopathies such as age-related macular degeneration and retinitis pigmentosa. Although many causes of blindness throughout the world are preventable (e.g., poor nutrition, parasites), genetic disorders underlie the majority of visual impairments in developed countrie...

Zebrafish: a genetic model for vertebrate organogenesis and human disorders.

Mutations may be tolerated without noticeable effect or may present with a specific phenotype that reveals information about the function of the mutated gene. This information is an inexhaustible source for understanding biology and let us ask particular questions about the molecular mechanisms of development, degeneration and disease. The zebrafish (Danio rerio) has been proven to be instrumen...

Toward developmental models of psychiatric disorders in zebrafish

Psychiatric disorders are a diverse set of diseases that affect all aspects of mental function including social interaction, thinking, feeling, and mood. Although psychiatric disorders place a large economic burden on society, the drugs available to treat them are often palliative with variable efficacy and intolerable side-effects. The development of novel drugs has been hindered by a lack of ...
